Strobe or no strobe???? Random strobe????

I forgot to mention that IACP I saw a 180 lumen light that had what I thought was the usual strobe feature... but, it turned out to be what they claim is a newly patent-pending random strobe. It flashes the LED in a random pattern using an internal software based random generator. They claim its more effective than regular strobe because the brain and eyes cant get used to it. It also injected a burst of 250 lumens every few flashes. They said a 220 lumen version will be coming with this random strobe and bursts of 300 lumens... damn talk about bringing you to your knees!

This thing blew me away... made me dizzy and nauseous. Much more debilitating than a regular strobe. They had the actual patent there and it seemed legit... also claim they have patented a light that will switch to green in strobe mode (human vision is most sensitive to green as you probably already know).

Same dudes as the M3/M6 LED upgrade kit... never heard of them but the stuff was cool. 2020 Tactical Vision, LLC - I wish I had thought of that name.:sigh:

My LF5XT has "random strobe". They are certainly not the first.

Yeah the 'strobe as a weapon' never occurred to me until I saw how prominent it was in the LF5XT UI. Then I got blasted by some guy on the side of the road doing random strobe and it just reinforced the point.

Not that I can envision every having to use a strobe as a weapon, (I use it a lot as an attention getting device), but I'd love to see a utube vid of a random strobe.

Maybe it'd be more effective at getting drivers attention at night.

You know, the drivers that are talking on their cell phone, drinking a cup of coffee, and looking for the cigarette they just dropped, kind of driver.

With regard to the LF5XT - I am curious about what the light exactly does in so-called random mode? Can you describe the random mode flash sequence?

With regard to posting a link to 2020 Tactical Vision - all I have seen is the M3/6 LED upgrade at www.tacticalleds.com I think 2020 is designing and building for other name brands not their own... a couple of Americans (not a China flashlight company) with a smokin hot model with them!!

the liteflux random strobe seems to me to be the random switching of frequency (speed), but no change in brightness.
