Suggest a torch

Hi everyone, basicly I've been recommended to get the P7 lenser but I thought I would ask here for better advice.

I'm looking for a torch that will show up swirl marks on a car also a bright torch, I don't fancy the P7 that much, I don't know if more lumens = shows more swirl marks maybe someone could shed some light on this for me? (intended)

I like lights anyway (not as much as you guys... yet)

First: I think too many lumens will cover up swirls ....

Second: Will it be used in a garage, outdoors, at night ?

Third: Cost, What's your budget ?

G'day Martin and welcome to CPF

I had maglites for decades. My first LED torch was a Led Lenser M1 which was a gift from my boss
It blew me away that a torch that small could put out so much light. That was the beginning of my new "obsession" with LED torches

Anyway since I got the Led Lenser I've bought 6 other LED torches from Fenix and Jetbeam
ALL of these have had better beam and build quality than the Led Lenser, so my recommendation based on my relatively new experience is to consider some of the other brands which are generally a little bit cheaper than Led Lenser anyway.

I can't recommend a particular light as I don't know about showing up swirls in paint work.
