Hey flashlight gurus,
I am a LEO and currently use an Ultra Stinger as my duty light and a H2X Typhoon 2 as a backup. The stinger(s) is/are shared by the department and I'm tired of coming on shift and finding them dead, making me use my typhoon which goes through 123 batteries like no other. With chargers at the station and in every car, I'm thinking of buying a used ultra stinger. Now for my questions,
I read on CPF that if I were to mod a stinger with a LED and new battery packs that I could melt the poly lens. What if I just use the replacement LED? I also read about the switches failing once the lights have been modded. Any insight into this? I'm leaning towards just replacing the lens but if there's a better battery pack I can use with the stock chargers and lens I'm all for it.
