Super bright red LED flashers?

Has any seen/built a bright LED flasher? I've tried all the cheap Bike Shop flashers made from 5mm LEDs. I'm looking for a 1w Luxeon or UFO red LED light but I can't seem to find one available. Brighter the better as this would be used for Search and Rescue and land marker beacons.
Has anyone modded a flasher to use Luxeons? Would it be a simple LED swap? If I decide to build one, would I be better off moddign an exsisting bike flasher of starting from scratch. I'd like to use CR123s or Li AAs.

would an inova 24/7 be any good? not sure if thats what you need, but it has a flasher mode and red LEDs
