Super-knife.jpg

Sold VIA Ali ...
$5.28 Oz to my door .
Supposedly 440 (?)
Small slip joint knife with a little blade play side to side .
Initial impression is cheap N nasty .
Branded Super Knife ...
I have to review the video - Butt ! a 500 slice fail from a $5 banana knife . ?????? That's like 1c a slice ( That's Crazy )
The spine on one side was so crispy , it cut my finger as I sliced rope ( Video ) .
For slicing rope , yeah not the best knife - Butt ! ( That butt again ) . It's a seriously slice'y knife . It went thru the rope easy . Just hard to slice 100% all the way thru cos the knife was so small and the edge so straight . ( Belly )
Anyways . 500 slices is nothing to sneeze at . I'm shocked ! I would have been very happy with 250 , no ecstatic ! Butt 500 ( there's that butt again ) .
Sometimes you just luck out ! I did lightly grind the spine to make both sides of the spine bushcrafty . It scrapes wood and throws ferro now . ( Ambidextrous )
Best $5 ever spent !

the secondary edge is probably quite thin so it can retain a working edge despite the primary going dull. that knife nerd steel guy mentioned that actually the sharpening angles matter more than the actual steel. also heat treat done well can result in good edge retention

Having quality steel, a proper heat-treat, and the right sharpening angles; is the sweet trifecta.
