Picked up a second gen (320 lumen) 6PX Pro that will now only run on low mode. It did run on low or high. Is it fixable or is it now a nightstand light?

I was using 2 cr123'S and a 16750. I have it unplugged to see if it resets.
I have noticed that a bunch of my stock 2×cr123 surefires do not like single Li Ion cells...my EB2 hates them, but my G2X pro tolerates them. The EB2 would only come on low while a Liion was in there, after a bright flash...I thought I had killed it, because even 2×cr123a did not reach max brightness until I let it sit for a while. It is now functioning as normal, I hope the same method works for you.

That is strange. I've never heard of a light being temporarily damaged and then fixing itself. Not if it's not due to water ingress.
But usually replacing 2XCR123a with a lithium ion is safe. It may not work very well or at all, but the lower voltage won't hurt anything

If the voltage drops too low, the light has a power save mode that sets it to low only. Fresh batteries should reset this. Not this time. It goes back to be evaluated.

That's what I mean. It's not even resetting. Not really. It's just low cells can't support high output. Fresh cells can.

But yes you are following the right course of action. Sure fire customer service is quite good. I have been very happy the couple times I've had to use it
