Congrats nano and thanks for the pics:twothumbs, how many AW 17670 do you have, they all fit well? all my AW17670 can not fit .

Huh,
To my eye the E2L looks brighter. How come? It's rated at 45 lm while the L1 is rated at 65.

I am waiting to buy the KX2 when available and have been struggling with a decision on the L1 (everyone loves it so much). But if the E2L is just as powerful I may stick just with that (I prefer the 2 cell format).

That's unusual. I've not had problems fitting two protected RCR's into the newer tubes, but I've not seen any of the newer ones that would allow a P17670.

My SF cell that came in the E2L now is running low ( one of them) despite me not using it quite often, now it falls under regulation - so i decided to use the AW P17670 permanently because it can supply constant output for 4 1/2 hours.
Just to share :)

My E2L will not fit the two AW17670s I own. I could probably jam it in there but it's the getting out part that has me worried.

Just to clarify; are you saying that you had your E2L rebored larger to accept a 17670, or has Surefire changed the light itself to where it now comes standard able to accept a 17670?

And then were does that leave the L1 with regard to taking a rechargeable battery?

Just wondering.

Lighthound sells a 3.0 volt Li-ion #17335 Green Label that will fit any L1. I've used them in mine with no problems at all. I don't have a runtime test though, I need to do one sometime soon. To me his battery tube looks alot like the old E20 tube with different markings, they will fit 17670 cells as well. Hard to say, occasionally a tube will fit a 17670 but most don't. I had an E2L Luxeon version that wouldn't fit 17670.

Received my another UCL for surefire G2 and another for my next maglite 2D project :naughty:
I was so surprise at the thickness and ultra clear crystal the UCL on my G2L that my wife was so impress because it almost look like it has no lens at all  job Flashlightlens.com.
And my G2L output (from my naked eye) easily jump from 80 lumens to maybe extra 5-10 lumens (i'm serious - jokes a side)
Unbelieveable

My Aw 17670 fits in my E2L as well. My ultrafire didn't fit 2 months ago and didn't try the AW till today! Works just fine! Time to use it more huh!

mmm, other than boring the only other option would be to invest in a couple 17500s and maybe some tape to cut down on the rattling
