to all those who are eagerly awaiting the Surefires: just send your current lights to CM or Milkyspit and replace with a SSC, same beam pattern as a Lux III and you'll get your fix for a while.

I love Surefire lights. I am anticipating the new L1 greatly. I have no problems with Surefire's business model.

The thing I wonder about is, when you place your order, how do you know which version you will be getting?
In the past you could order and try to get, say the new rounded body style instead of the older square style, but it was difficult to know which version you'd get. Body styles are one thing, but the performance difference in these improvements makes them completely different lights.
An old L1 is not even close to the same thing as a new Cree L1.

Only a few more months to go guys - lets save up! hehehe Personally I want to get the NEW L5 with TIR (yes TIR lens!) rated at 120 lumens, conservatively of course! Ive always loved the simplistic elegance of the TIR lens as opposed to a reflector, and think Surefire will do a great job implementing these new optics with cree.
Another thing, the X200 weapons light will be replaced by the X300 which is rated at a WHOPPING 160 lumens!! yeeeehaaawww! Now I cant decide if i want a weapon light or not. lol

Are the lumen output and runtime numbers in the 2007 catalogue derived with the cree?
