I can't seem to locate this in any of the past threads using the search function.

Can the E1L be operated using a momentary function of the switch without first having to click the switch on? I understand that when the switch is softly pressed the light will shine in low mode; but if you rapidly softly press the switch again, will it shine in high mode or do you actually have to click the switch completely on first before you can actuate the high mode in a momentary fashion?

I just purchased an L1 and really like the UI. I'm trying to convince myself that I need an E1L because of its increased runtime on high. Does anyone know what the actual runtime on high mode is? I've read posts that speculate 3 or 4 hours but has anyone conducted a runtime test? Also what happens after it drops out of regulation, is there a long declining output to moon mode or does the light just shut off?

Thanks for any replies.

It does exactly that. A light press will activate alternately low-high-low-high ... :)

Thank you for that answer. I feel like I will use that feature a lot and that answer has made my decision to purchase the E1L.

+1 on the E1L...I wanna get one of the 2 mode one's, as I have one of the 1st (few) 2nd gen 1 mode (45 lumen, ser no. 00450), which is nice in itself...max light, one push...but I want the dual mode 1 as well now...they don't call it a habit for nothing...

I must be one of the oddballs here.
I never use the momentary on mine. It's fine, but it must be that satisfying clicky noise, as I find myself quickly clicking away.

The E1L is my most used light, mostly on low, but I love it.

Only things I'm not too fond of:

It's a little top heavy, easy to fumble. Also easy to misplace.

Hmm I wonder if I should grab an E2L one day to keep it company.......too many lights
