Is there anyone on here that can mod the driver in the Invictus or M3LT? I was talking to a SireFire tech support agent and asked if the M6LT had a different LED than the other two lights and he said no, the difference is it's driven harder so I thought I'd ask if anyone can modify the driver.

The "problem" is that the 3xCR123 cells must drive at my UB3T ~1.65A, that is a lot. I would not drive a CR123 cell harder, the cells may overheat an explode. The M6LT has two "packs" of 3xCR123 in paralell. Therefore the higher current is no problem.

With rechargables maybe, but why loosing warranty and havin 100 Lumens more. The XM-L LED has ~1000 LED Lumens a few more or less depending on the binning. At all you will not have a lot more OTF lumens thant 900 or maybe 1000 if you have one of the brightest binnings. My UB3T is good for me and does not need modifications and it ia also good to have the possiblility using CR123 and 17500 cells with this light.

I know this is an old thread but I am curious also. I have had my M3LT for a couple years now, warranty is defiantly expired and now its kinda turned into a safe queen. Is it possible to mod? or just dead in the water?
Thanks any help is appreciated.

The Surefire warranty is lifetime unless someone knows something different.

You could email Vinh54 to see if he would work on the light, but you've still got the 3 CR123 battery issue. You could get the tube bored to accept rechargeable cells.
