Surefire kl5 mod

Can a surefire kl5 be modded with a SSCP4 or Cree 7090 LED? Does the body have enough thickness (metal) to be bored out to accept an 18650 cell?

Should be doable.
Body can also be bored out, but the wall at the threads would only
be 0.5mm . I think it's safer with a 17670 Li-Ion cell...

Check with milkyspit ( member here on CPF) IIRC he has modded KL5's with SSC P4's or Cree XRE's. He has modded a Nuwai 301 X3 for me with a Cree XRE and it works great.

Yes, Milky modded my L5 with a Seoul. It's pumping out 200 lumens now and is maybe my favorite light. And, yes. The body can be bored out with little trouble to fit the 18650. Mine is.
