Personally, I wouldn't risk buying off of ebay for something like this, I would find something in the cpf marketplace.

An eBay link and the question "has anyone tried this?" is an inadequate way to start a thread. Apart from anything else, the eBay link will soon go dead, so the thread will become valueless as a reference.

Please describe the item and (preferably) provide a photo of it too. The thread will remain open for a reasonable time for you to do that, failing which it will close.

Okay, what more could I ask? Since this is the Mecca of flashlights I figured whoever is buying these probably visits CPF.
A saved Ebay link from your favs does not go dead for a long time.

At least the product seems to be of pretty good quality and the seller sounds like he knows what he is talking about.

It doens't sound like someone trying to sell "Snake Oil" at all, or course IMHO.

You are allowed to make your own decisions. I have bought from ebay the solarforce Q5 and had no problems with it running in my Surefire 6P.

I regularly buy genuine SureFire parts from Ebay, and I've never had a problem with them. Nor with the parts neither with any seller...

If it uses a P7/MC-E type emitter why is there such an obious hot spot?

In the beamshoot it should just be a wall of light not a beam shoot.

Large deep reflector ;)

the beamshot looks much like my P7-Mag does.

I saw this auction when it started at like $30.. it was in my watch list just to see how high it would go. It appears to be well made, if the price was a bit less i'd consider picking one up.

Does anyone recognize the parts being used? Is that head a standard surefire head? I wish there were more of these. I would say they are worth the price.

Depending on the reflector used, an MC-E or P7 can make a very nice hot-spot. When matched with a shallow small refector, the MC-E & P7 will make a more floody beam.

When I first saw these heads on eBay, I was interested as well, but the price soon got too high and I'd rather wait for a genuine Surefire M3L head to be released.

Your recognition of CPF's strong viewer potential is gratifying, but it doesn't validate a posting in the wrong forum.

Announcements of auctions of interest that may appear on ebay are to be posted on the MarketPlace board in the Other Auction Notices.

We'll close it here. Please open a new thread there.
