Hey guys,

Basically I want a 4.8" version of the dual output E2DL without the scalloped tailcap.... Can I take a E2DL 200/5 dual output head and put it on an E2E/E2D body? Will this affect runtime, or should it be the same as a factory E2DL? Will this void the Surefire warranty on the part?

Thanks,

I believe so, the size of the batteries is still the same. ;)

The scalloping on the tailcap doesn't look too significant, so if I were you, I would keep it on...$42 for a tailcap isn't cheap.

Will the E1B Backup tailcap fit? I see some of them in the marketplace for $20+ from time to time as the Backup owners let theirs go (preferring the Scout Light tailcap - just like me!)

The only problem with the E1B tailcap is that it doesn't match the E2DL body. The E2DL body has knurling while the E1B tailcap has grooves. I'm about to put an E1B tailcap onto an E2DL body but I need to get the tailcap first.

AFAIK, all SF e series head and tail threads are compatible. Just be careful with the battery configuration, i.e. E1B head on E2D body with two c123=:poof:
