Surefire M79 tight fit

I recently bought a M79 1" mount for my ar15, but its really hard for me to put a 1" body around it. Ex. I took my 6P and tried to put it in the M79 but it takes a ridiculous amount of force to close the clamp. It also wears out my ano on the 6P . Also taking the clamp off with bare hands hurts my fingers. Well i was just wondering if anyone else experiences these same problems or the mount is just like this. Thanks

Is the top part of the mount loosened up all the way?

Ohhh i think i see what you mean now. The top part of the clamp can be twisted. I thought that it was supposed to be twisted all the way down. I see thanks.
