As soon as I got the VME I played around to see what M61’s would be practical to use with a single cell body. I was a little sad that a P60 lamp didn’t fit (not that it would be super practical, but fun).

I like the WLL with a 16340. That one ought to give acceptable runtime and is a nice general purpose brightness. The WLL has around 20 or so lumens with a 123 so maybe that would be a good long running battery vampire option. There is more experimenting and testing to be done.

LF P60’s will fit in mine.

i don't understand why this bulb produces more lumens with the 16340 (3.7V) than with the B65 (4.2V).

I have a Surefire G3 with a Malkoff M61LL, as a general purpose house light, 100 lumens with over 15 hours runtime.

Plus a Surefire E2D Executive Defender body fitted with a Malkoff MDC XP-L Low-Medium-High head together with Lumens Factory's two way clip and E Series E2T style tailcap.

Same here. A 6P with a Z59 tailcap and WLL along with yellow G2 using an old NL.
I have a round 6P sporting a group buy M361w, a Malkoff tailcap, and Elzetta speed clip. Oh and a black G2 with an M61NLL.

Non SureFire related I have a Brinkmann MaxFire with a N4L(sst), a Rayovac 2aa indestructable with an M31L in a stock head, and one with a SolarForce head and an M31, a Pentagon eX2 with an old M60t, a Pelican M6 (2320) with a Malkoff tailcap and M61NL, a Lumens Factory Seraph with a 5000k N4L, a 3D Maglite with Malkoff drop in and last but not least a Vital Gear 3 cell body with an M31L using 2x AA for fuel. Oh, and a Klarus P1A with aa MDC head. The Klarus was a poor man's MD2 hi/lo but is now a poor man's MDC.

I bought a host for each module as I bought the modules. All use primary batteries except the Klarus that uses an eneloop pro.

My favorite was my first one, the 6P clicky with the WLL. It now also sports an Elzetta lanyard ring and generic wrist strap. The Z59 arrived DOA from SureFire but a spring stretch got it working.

For pup walking tonight I put together a 200 lumen e2d body, e1b mv tailcap, and VME head with M61WL and two 16340’s.

One of my favorite setups, C3 with M91BW or BN. Excellent tac light and very dependable. Sometimes I like to use the very toothy lumens factory defender bezel.

My EDC is the MD2 with a 6PX tail and a M61N, but my weirdest little guy is this:

I put a spare LF bezel ring on the G2 and it makes a big difference in appearance. It mates with the plastic head better than the metal head sf’s too. Got it in my shirt pocket today with an m61wl and 16650, just a great combo. I like a green body light with a warm tint.
