Considering that the SureFire M6 is a 9-volt system, can you run an N2 lamp assembly on it? If my assumptions are correct, it should work with extended run time. Can anyone confirm this?
The N2 lamp is designed for three SF123A batteries in series, not for two parallel sets of three SF123A batteries in series.
The MN20 and MN21 Lamps are designed to handle the power of the M6 battery configuration. The likes of the N2, MN15 & MN16 are not designed to handle being used in the M6.
It has been noted that the N2 can work in the M6 but then it has also been noted that they explode instantly.
You can put the KL6 on the M6 if you want. It looks a bit strange but will give you more runtime then the L6.
Not only does the N2 work in the SF M6 (using only 3-cells), it works very nicely. There are a couple threads around that discuss how to do this. The trick is to find which 3-slots of the M6 cell holder to populate. If you f*** it up, you risk explosion and injury. I've been using this configuration for some time with great success. The N2 is still my favorite SF beam.
Look around, I know there are a couple threads. One from me and another from Sean I think.
The N2 is a great beam.
If you find the right three slots to fit three of the six SF123As into the MB20 Battery Carrier then you can put the N2 in the M6 powered by Three SF123As. Of course you'll have to isolate the remaining three SF123As if you want to carry them in the M6's MB20 battery carrier...
Many people here at CPF mentioned that the N2 lamp produces one of the best SureFire beams. I am intrigued and want to experience it for myself. I was looking for an excuse to purchase a M6, but I think it is easier to run it on my M4 along with a battery spacer. I don’t want to risk blowing up a N2 Lamp Assembly.
slick228, you can run two Pila 168s with the N2. It should give you a longer runtime than running it off 3x123, and give you as good a light. Been thinking about this combination myself, especially with 2000mAH 18650 cells. Should run close to 2 hours with that combination. Hmmm, I think I just convinced myself I need this combination.
