Is it possible to buy an optic used in SF L1 alone? I like it so much I want to try to swap one into my fenix t1, should make a pretty interesting light with its >200 lumens.

I don't believe SF makes their optics available separately. You can, however, buy TIR optics designed for the XR-E from Khatod, Ledil, Fraen, and Cree.

I'm not sure what the sf is using
there are some optics available, mostly for for the old luxeons, nx5 so17's and such. There are some available for cree emitters as well, you'd probably have to hunt them down, some others on here might have some more usefull input. Heres a link Luke A gave me a to the kathod 6 degree used in the malkoff M60

not sure if that helps.

You could also ask Milky some of his L1 mods deal with optics removal. He might have some extra on hand.

I'm really after the specific beam pattern that SF optics offer, the no spill big hotspot. Not sure if any of the stuff linked is like that.

Good idea, will do that.

I second contacting Milkyspit -- he may have some he's pulled out of lights --I had him remove on from my KX1
