Sent my SP-101 3 inch to Gemini Customs. Matte finish, bobbed hammer, crowned, chamfered cylinders, action job, custom grip. Most of you will only notice the hard to find Surefire E2e-BK.

Yo, Logical: Don't know much about flashlights, being a total noob, but GOOD CHOICE for the shootin' arn! Did you have to have the sights regulated for your carry load?

What do you use in it, 125 gr@ 1450,(4" bbl)or many of the .38 Spl +Ps available? The grips are a neat addition, and I bet they help with recoil, right? I think Bill Ruger has the first tree he ever bought, when it comes to designing grips for his creations. The chamfered cylinders would be neat for whatever they call combat competitions now, 'cause lead semi wadcutters tend to hang up during a speed load,(Don't ask how I know this!) but the JHPs you show, and RNFP are much less likely to slow the process down. Be safe, and ENJOY! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/happy14.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/goodjob.gif

P.S. Good looking flashlight, too!

Wow, thats really nice.

Did they bead blast the 101? I assume this is a carry gun right? It is so smooth. It is so tempting me even though I'm a semi auto guy.

Guess I left out a few things. Yes, they beadblasted to get the finish. The ammo I carry in it is Cor-Bon 110 gr. .357 Medium Velocity. It's sorta like a really hot .38+P but in a .357 length case. A good balance between punch and controlability. The grips aren't Ruger, and aren't from Gemini either....it's a boot grip from www.badgercustomgrips.com . They are not as cushy as the stock rubber Ruger grip...but less snag potential and pretty. It is not cleared like some for the HKS speed loader but I never carry extra ammo anyway. Other guys make similar grips with the clearance.

Most of these guns are the shorter barrel but I prefer the 3.25 inch version I have here. No more difficult to conceal and a better shooter by far. It's just a little harder, but not impossible, to find holsters for it.

I was kinda wondering about reloads, but if you don't carry any extras. With the action job; how smooth is the DA pull?

What, no tritium up front? Tsk Tsk.

The trigger is very smooth compared to how it came from the factory...still heavy at 10 lbs. but that was my requested pull. Light triggers and adrenaline don't mix in my opinion.

Not saying this is the ultimate carry gun or anything. I have smaller ones, I have ones with much higher capacity, etc. I just like this one.

logical,
Nice piece. Ruger makes a hell of a wheel gun. I own a couple of Rugers, but have yet to get my hands on a Ruger revolver. Nice!

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/sick2.gif I would feel almost naked with just a wheelgun and the ammo in it.

I never leave the house without atleast 18 rounds in my gun, and occasionally another 17 round mag and XO3 in a Fobus pouch on my side.

Reading this thread is very frustrating for someone who lives in my gun-hating city with the most rigid gun laws anywhere. You guys don't know how lucky you are. Everyone says how powerful the NRA is; unfortunately they're not powerful enough to remedy this situation.

I understand....just one of those areas where we all need to "tend our own garden".

3 good things to have, flashlight, knife, and S&W.
Not necessarally used in that order.

Logical, NICE WORK on that SP101. My SP101 needs some attention. Did you know that the Ashley Express big dot sight for a Smith J-frame will fit a Ruger SP101?

Thanks for sharing!

Don't know much about your S&W, but the Strider combo sure looks sweet /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/kewlpics.gif

Well, since I don't know much about knives either, I at least pieced together an M2 through Surefireparts in a similar fashion (SW02 tailcap).

Your are right mokona2, it is an M2 Surfire.
S&W is a Mod 625-10.
Knife is special model for the Strider Surefire Combo.

By the way logical I really like the grips on your Ruger, and thanks for the link. I'm glad to see some new options for Ruger grips.

Wait, Brightnorm, do you live in SF or DC?

I'm thankful for my rights, unfortunately I have to wait for another 8 1/2 monhs to be legal to buy a pistol. I'm still thanksful of my second amendment rights, and that I don't live in SF, where they are in the process of making it illegal to own any type of pistol, period.

SOrry to hear your situation though, maybe it's time to move?
