I want to pick up a Surefire 6P bored for my 18650's.
I'm planning on getting a Malkoff drop-in a WF module.
My questions are-do I get the M30 or M60? M30 is for single cells I think? Is the M60 for two cr123's? Do either do both? I've read lots on it including the drop-in thread but that is still unclear. :ohgeez:

M30 on single cell -> Maximum output
-extra +, the ability to run 2 or 3 AA's
-extra -, no tolerance (poof) with 2+ lithium cells
-extra -, no warning drop out on protected R lithiums

M60 on single cell -> Maximum runtime
-extra +, declining output warning
-extra +, ability to run 2 lithium cells

I have found that for me, the M60 is more versatile. I can use one rechargeable or two cr123's in a 6P form factor. This is the most likely combo most will use on a regular basis. Like ElectronGuru said, the 1 18650 will run the light then taper off in brightness behaving similiar to the two cr123's.

If you can find a one-cell extender bored to hold the 18650 diameter cell it will allow you to use 3 cr123's or two 18500 rechargeables for a longer runtime. You would also be able to add an 18650 extender to the bored 6P to use two 18650's for awesome runtime. The brightness will stay the same.

The M30 is a more specialized dropin with less flexiblity. It operates on one rechargeable at max brightness. It will run at max brightness until the protected cell shuts off. Usually there is no warning, or very little dimming, before the light goes out.

Great thanks so I can run the M60 with one 18650 that's awesome
M60 it is
