I have a Surefire spares carrier SC1. I am having trouble putting the top on without damaging the batteries. Did I get a bad spares carrier?

In what way are you damaging the batteries? I've never heard of that problem. I've had some that were tough to thread on at first, but that's the only problem I've heard.

Nope many have had this problem if you remove the label on your spare lamp it should fix the problem. Just make sure and label it somehow.

As a dent sufferer myself, this ISN'T normal. PK addressed this on what was FKA the SFDB. It's especially prominent with SF batteries because they're a mm or so larger in length and/or diameter. PK said the SCs were being redesigned because of it.

On a side not, I've had this problem with my non-SF batteries (Ultras) and had to remove the sticker from the LA and label it with a Sharpie.

Moved...to Batteries....

I would not use a damaged/dented 123-cell...They are volatile, and if the dent is deep enough, the cell may vent or discharge all sorts of nasty stuff while under load...

On another note, I cannot believe that this company would even release a product like that; a protective device that damages the contents it's supposed to protect...
