how much brighter is the fenix tk11 r2 than a surefire u2 ? i know that the u2 is rated at 100 lumens and the tk11 r2 is rated at 240 lumens but in real life is the tk11 that much brighter thanks for the help

I've got both lights. They aren't comparable at all. The TK11-R2 is a thrower, the U2 is an allrounder. So, the hotspot of the TK11 is much brighter, the spill is darker.

On the other hand, you can get 2 x TK11-R2 and 2 x TK10 (better comparison) for the price of a U2.

Don't compare, think of what you want to have!

The 100 lumen rated U2 is usually considered the original U2 with a Lux V emitter. Recent Lux V are probably about 120 lumens (not talking about the new U2A). The Lux V U2 is probably the most versatile LED light out there with its easily accessible variable output and its smooth beam, with a hotspot that does not overpower the the beam. Last LED light I would sell.
