I just purchased a Surefire V1 Vampire light to add to my EDC kit.

However, im a bit dissapointed about the beam color as it has a warm tint to it. I really thought it would have cool white "bluish" tint.

Are all lights this way now?

When buying a light nextime, what specs do i need to look for when wanting a more cool white beam?

Look for a light labeled "cool white" or having a specified color temperature greater than 5000 K (e.g. 6500 K).

Do all Surefire lights have the warm tint?
What about Cree? Do those have the cool tint?

It varies from one manufacturer to another but cool tints are more common, you just happened to pick the one that was intentionally made with a warmer tint if I recall correctly. I think some of the promotional stuff for them plugged the warmer tint as a bonus....I could be totally wrong on this though...it's been a while.

Just depends on the batch of emitters. Most of the time SF and others are looking for the output rather than tint. But if your looking to ID subjects tactically then a warmer tint is better for identification of threats. Colours are better represented when you head towards 80+CRI or more
