Howdy, I'm new here. I just checked and did not find anything on this, so here goes:

Just ordered Centurion (C3). Does anyone have experiences with the V70 Speed Holster? There is not much information on the Surefire site about the V70.
So I've sent an e-mail. Their response: give us a call! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif So I did (I'm in Yurrope). Talked to customer service.
Thing is: didn't help me at all. I still don't know diddley about how good, or not, this V70 is.

So if anyone has one, could you pls give me a heads up on the V70?

I wonder: how safe is safe? Upside down (with some bumps in the road)? Is it a noisy clunker?

Thank you.

It really depends on what you use is. I have one, it is rather large and physically hard. If you put your C3 in bezel down, everything but the bezel will be sticking out the top, making it very tall, which might be uncomfortable. I've found these to be very tight for bezel up, as they firmly grab your tailcap, and have worn the finish around the knurling on a couple 6P's and Z2's I have. It isn't noisy as it has a pretty tight grip on the light.

For a holster to carry around all the time, it is not ideal. For a holster on a police belt, or where you will have to draw your light, it is pretty good. It gives you the ability to carry in the bezel up (more secure in my mind) and switch it around to be ready in a hurry. In concealed carry mode in the US, I usually use this to carry my Z2 on my left side, and my handgun on my right. Oddly enough, this holster sticks out farther than my handgun holster. I had a little kid in a supermarket ask me if the flashlight was a gun. It was funny.

Howdy UVvis, thanks for answering.
(btw, I like your location...) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I've noticed the high ride when looking at the site, one of my beefs...

Being made out of hardened material, I imagine it is likely to go "bump" in the night... not good. I will check with Blackhawk/SpecOps/Arktis if they have any soft rig for it. I have to wait for arrival to take correct measurements.

What really got my goat was the open (no covers/latches/thumbbreaks) design. Hmmm.
I must say, I was a bit surprised that they only offer one holster for their lights. And a "hard" one, as that.

Also, I was a bit surprised about their telephone service.
Had better.

The open design for this holster is what makes it a speed holster, made for a quick draw of the light. The light is held in by spring tension basically. Also, for bump sounds, it does kinda make a unique sound when you remove a light from it.

Thanks for the location comment. Hopefully I'll soon be heading a couple thousand miles North to New Zealand.

My only complaint on this holster is that the spring that holds the light in the holster does quite a number on the finish. No doubt, the spring does its job very well, but the finish on your light will pay for it.

I've got one for $22 shipped usps conus, if you still want one. mine fits M3. works really good, but hard on the finish. Please PM if you are interested

i was wearing a V70 upside down for a while. It's a lot less visible. I would have it bezel "up" and i also made sure that i had the lanyard attached to something as running would shake my 6z loose.

Thanks for the interest everyone /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Ok, I will get my C3 with a V70 from CONUS, directly from Surefire (once they have the other stuff I've ordered in stock, that is 2-3 weeks they say).

If I don't like the V70, back it goes, as I've told customer service dept. on the phone. They said: No problem.

Will check C3 for finish, scratches and else upon arrival.
Thanks for the heads up in thread Surefire Quality! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Now, does anyone know of a BlackhawkIndustries - SpecOpsBrand - Arktis or any other brand holster (soft w/cover) that will fit Centurion C3?

I would have to wait for C3 arrival to measure it correctly and would like to start a-huntin' for alternatives to V70 earlier.

Thanks.
