How do the batterystation CR123 cells stack up against surefire's cells? I know I've heard of a lot of people being very happy with the BS cells, but do they also incorperate the features of surefires? According to their website, their 123 primaries have heat and fault protection as well as some jazz about being made by a 'leading manufacturer'...
Surefire $1.75/ea + $4.99 flat rate shipping up to $99 (free over $99)

Choosing the right brand is not only a matter of achieving maximum performance, it's also the safest way to power your SureFire illumination tool. SureFire lithium batteries are engineered with quality control and built-in fault and heat protection that may not exist in lesser-known brands. To guarantee safe performance, SureFire recommends that you use SureFire-brand batteries-and that you never mix brands. Our engineers tested every major brand of 123A battery and selected the one with the best performance characteristics for high-drain devices like flashlights. Our batteries are manufactured by one of leading battery manufacturers in the world. And, because they're produced by the millions, we're able to pass these economies of scale on to you by offering SureFire batteries for an extremely competitive price

Check the "threads of interest" sticky at the top of this forum, and go to SilverFox's "123 Battery Shootout". That should answer all your questions.

I think BS changed their supplier recently after about the 20-30th (guessing, could be more or less) or so reported explosion with their previous supplier. So SilverFoxes Data may not be up to date... Not sure if they still do CPF discounts over at BS or not.... might be worth checking out as I know they were selling their previous generation cells at around $1.00 ea to CPFers (that may have had to change with the cost of safer cells)

I'm thinking I'm going to go with the BS 123's. $1.25 each before shipping ($7). For 20 it comes out to $1.60 each including shipping. Just need to stock up a couple P60 spares and maybe a battery/lamp carrier or two as well. Thanks all!

You should take a look at some of their Battery/Case combo's aswell, there are some ok deals in there.

Yeah I noticed those... What type of packaging does the non-cased cells come in? I got an ammo box with plenty of room in it...

oh and no ammo, just an old-school angle head army light and some misc crap :p

If you order 50 they come in a nice cardboard box. This has been true with all the boxes of 50 I've got from batterystation.

Each time I order less than 50, they come tightly taped up in thick plastic bags.
