Well- I went to that store and they now have about 8 different kinds of SureFire's, including the 8X rechargeable I think, and a some Aviator series. M4 Auto, I'm told that the upgrades in the 5 Watt LED will be something to behold...I think that the challenge will be for the LED to produce a bright, white light, instead of the bluish/green that they sometimes do.

...the only thing I will say is that, Streamlight has people like me in mind when they make flashlights.

[/ QUOTE ]You and me both. Hey James, I grew up in Sumter. I have a brother in Columbia and one in Charleston. Where are you?

I live in Goose Creek but I work in Charleston. Every Friday on my way home from work I pick up my grandson (age 6) who lives in Summerville. He stays with me until Sunday night. He has been wanting to camp out and sleep in a tent. I promised him we would do it this weekend. Thankfully, I talked him into just putting the tent up in the back yard. I didn’t want to drive to some camp ground and he is happy as long as he is outside. Plus if I forget something I don’t have far to go to get it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif So I will get to use my flashlights some this weekend. This is when the LEDs come in handy. Kids like to play with flashlights leaving them on for long periods at a time. Could you imagine giving a kid a SureFire M6 to play with? When you count the cost of batteries and the life of the lamp that sucker cost about $40 an hour to operate. I give my grandson my Brinkmann LX and my 2 Brinkmann LEDs. I will take my Streamlight collection out to the tent with me also (too many lights? not to a flashaholic). However, my most used light is not a Streamlight. My most used light is a cheap little Pelican L1. It is small, light weight, dependable, easy to EDC and in most cases where I really “needed” a light it was enough light to do the job.

It sure does look like your kids are in the process of transforming into a flashaolic. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
The M6 may consume a lot of batteries but this is not what I am concerned about. In fact I am more concerned about the kids burning their hands while playing with it. SF incandecent lights are no kids toy buddy.

Anyway, congratulations to your kid's new found interest, and that is lightaholic, gradually into flashaholic.
