Surefire Z59 - Got Screwed!

Maybe someone can help me.

I put up a post in the BUY forum because I wanted to buy a Z59 tailcap.

A guy (goldensweepled) contacted me via PM and told me he had a used one for $26.00. I PayPal'd him the money on Nov 12th.

I never received it and now when I go to PM him he has unregistered from CPF. Does anyone know this guy. I really dont care about the $26 it isnt the end of the world, but I use to own Bulldog Enterprises on this forum and sell a lot of Surefire items and I never screwed anyone and it is just principal.

I disputed the transaction in PP and I am not sure if I am covered as I did not buy it from a online auction (Ebay).

Any help woould be great.

You don't have to use ebay to be protected under PP, however, if he doesn't have the money tied to his account you'll likely never see the funds....

Wow, I can't believe this.

Around the same time I put a WTB in the MarketPlace for a Surefire lamp, MN03. I got a reply from Goldensweep offering one, but I declined politely saying that I wasn't happy dealing with a brand new registered member.

I actually felt bad about it, and I ended up discussing the matter here. I felt bad about the fact that I was prejudging someone when others had trusted me when I first joined the MarketPlace.

Anyway, seems my first guess on the guy was right.

To hcd615, I hope you get your money back, and maybe this little extra info might go some way towards convincing Paypal to cone down on your side.

I was told Almeria in Spain, which at the time I thought was a remarkable coincidence, and I will now assume was just part of the plan.

He didnt say where he lived. Like I said as people know on here I sold A LOT of stuff on Ebay and this forum. I didnt really look into this guy. I said hey, used Z59, $26.00 great. Sent the money and then realized all this stuff today. If I dont get the money back it is okay, I really put this post up to see if anyone else got screwed by this guy or knew him. The other day I looked into his username and saw he only had 7 posts. Then I realized I probably got hosed, and then when I saw he unregistered himself from CPF I kissed my $26 goodbye

He is a good con because he said okay I will sell it for $26 but you owe me a cup of coffee. That was his nice little way of making himself seem genuine.

How does one unregister from CPF? I didn't know it was possible to do without staff assistance.

I can only say that I went to MEMBERS LIST at the top, clicked on "G" and went to the 7th page of the G's and goldensweepled was there on the list with 7 posts. If you go there now he is not there. So I assumed he unregistered.

You are looking in the wrong web site.

goldensweeps is not a member of CPF. He is a member of the CPF Markeplace forum at http://www.cpfmarketplace.com.

Easy to get them confused.

I stand corrected, he is on the CPF Marketplace members list on page 6 of the G's. But I am still screwed

Dont quote me on this but I think if the source of PP funds is your CC, your CC company might be able to pull some strings for you. Good Luck though. Definitely post to the Jeers forum. You can always go back and edit the Jeer thread if the seller does eventually come through and honor the transaction.

Problem Solved!

I just bought one from Optics HQ.

I paid thru my bank account thru PP. Oh well, next time I will look into the seller before I buy something.

Try to PM his username on the Marketplace. It's the best shot you have. I just had contact with someone from eBay where I was high bidder and he hadn't sent the item out yet. He just needed a bit of a wakeup call. Hope yours works out as well.

I have PM'd him quite a few times and have even emailed him to his hotmail account. Should I repost in JEERS or wait for this thread to get moved, I dont want to double post and screw things up.
