I observe that my surge runs pretty well with only 4 nimh AA. Anyone know of a bi-pin 4AA light that can take the surge bulb? I know somebody try it on a tec40. But I don't want to make the PR base adapter.

I don't know the bi-pin width on the surge bulb but Carley lamps sells pr base to bi pin adapters for next to nothing. Lemlux would be able to tell you.

The T-1 3/4 Surge bulb has a narrower pin configuration than the Carley #912 socket. I know of no PR adapter base that will work with the Surge lamp.

and since my surge lamp burned after i applied 7 volts to it with a variable power supply, I haven't manage to get a new bulb from my local dealers, said that the bulb will come in one month.... and to think i got the torch for less than a week..... this tells us that itchy hands only pays if you have a big pocket.

Nerd, did you have the voltage set at 7 or higher and then burn it out as you turned up the amperage? (Just seeing if I understand this power supply adjustment stuff..)
