T5 HE in T5 HO fixture?

hey guys,

can i put a T5 High Efficiency (lower wattage rating) into a T5 High output fixture? will that overload the fluorescent bulb? i can't seem to find a regular T5 HE fixture, only T5 HO fixture, but the T5 HO bulb is too bright for my needs.

What kind of fixture are you looking for? I can pretty much guarantee you that it, or something similar, is available with a normal T5 ballast. Using regular T5 lamps with a T5HO ballast will not get you the light output you are looking for, and will likely have severe lamp life issues.

Agree^ I'd just swap out ballast - take out the HO and install a new HE...
