I'm really tempted to buy one of the new Surefire L1s?

I know we're all flashaholics .. and the correct answer is Yeah, go for it..

But is it really worth it, do you think...?

I currently own Surefire G2, E2D, L4, M4. Fenix P1D-CE, L2D-CE, & Nite-ops Gladius

I've owned before (and sold) E1L, L2, P3D-CE and several other similar ones...

Go on...friends...convince/reassure me...

Is the new L1, going to be the EDC that i'm hankering after ?

The L1 was my first SF, and I must say that it's one of my favorites. A couple of things I like: small size, just 1 battery, 2 levels, plenty of runtime, bright enough for my needs.

From what I'm reading, the L1 is an improvement over the old style, and that's a high standard to achieve.

I have one of the new L1's and I am very happy with it. Compared to my other Cree lights, the L1 is the only one with a pure white tint.

I plan to get one if it will take rechargeables. Has anyone tried that yet?

Go ahead and order one! If for some reason you don't really like it, you can probably get 95% of your money back selling it..I don't need one but I plan on ordering one the middle of the month. If you don't get one you will always wonder if it was the EDC that you've been hankering for!!

I already held myself back from the L4, L2 (too big), U2 (even bigger). Wonder how much longer I can hold back. L1 looks like the best revision to the Surefire lineup for EDC purposes.

The L1 is by far the best light I owned (see sig) and I would buy another one in a heart beat if I had the money.

The size is perfect the run times are great and now with the cree version it's even smaller and brighter.

I'm holding off getting a cree version due to financial constraints at the moment.

If you don't like It I'd buy it from you. :)

.......Have you had a look at the AmiLite Neo T5 - SSC light? It is smaller, lighter, cheaper and has 91 (Surefire equivalent) lumens on high and 10 (Surefire equivalent) lumens on low. I have one and love it, it has a nice wide beam with good throw as well.....only my opinion though.....

Just picked up one of the new Cree ones today. I like it a lot. Its got a very nice clean beam w/even central spot. The spill on high has a couple of subtle rings but nothing disturbing since the central spot is so pure, even and brighter you don't really notice the spill except for what might be illuminated by it.
The tint is superb and it has great throw too. It has a sort of pocket "spot light" quaility to it if that makes sense.

The OA length has been reduced from the previous generation which is a real plus for a single 123 light. The head is still pretty long but the body is really short, just about .25" longer than an E1 body.

If you can find the new one's I wouldn't hesitate about getting one. Its a great light and one of the best SF's to come out in awhile.

Yeah..i'm convinced...

It'll be autumn before you know it..and the dark nights creeping in..and the flashlights will be getting more use...

I've just got to decide the best place to buy one..(ie: cheapest)
