I had some computer problems and enlisted tech support reinstalled window repair disk, and the 3 icons, formerly next to my start link at the bottom left of the desktop where I could immediately access Internet explorer,I forget the second icon, and the far right icon which allowed me to go directly to my desktop are now nowhere to be found and I don't know how to activate this feature. Here's a link to show which icons they are next to the start menu.

I'm not the most computer savvy person in the world and it's probably something pretty simple, I just don't want to spend hours trying to do it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Right click on your task bar, go to "toolbars" and make sure "Quick Launch" is checked.

Use the Explorer to open this subfolder:

C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch

'User' is the name you use to log-on and may vary in your case. If you create shortcuts in this folder, they will be displayed next to the 'Start'-button. Hope that helps /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

thank you both, the participants in this forum are really nice, helpful people. I know it seemed insignificant, but was bothering me, but to my rescue, Chris and Empath. I've been on other forums in the past, but this group of unusual people take the cake for being helpful and kind. Maybe it has to do with the nature of the passions we share, only very unique people gather here to talk about their lights.
