Tec-40 can it be used with Lithium AAs?

bulb would not survive long (possible instaflash), but on the bright side, you can always just use a different bulb and it will work fine on lithiums. Any 5 cell bulb will usually work reliably on 4 lithium AAs, you might stop by radioshack and pick up a few various PR based lamps, krypton bulbs are usually pretty tolerant to a lot of overdrive.

I e-mailed PT over this, and thay stated "yes," but they didn't any cautions.

I use lithiums in my car tec-40's, and havent had any issues...but, like mdocod stated, you might want to be careful.
You could also take the edge off the lithiums by running them in another light for a few minutes.

Yes, PT"s website indicates that it is designed to run happily on lithiums. I have used at Tec-40 and a Vortec headlamp with lithiums with no problem. I have run the stock bulb for a couple of hours on lithiums, the bulb never died.

I finally switched to Mag xenon bulbs just to try them, but the PT Halogen bulbs were still good. I've never had the stock bulb fail for any reason.
