Have a number of these lights (Tec 40) because of their versatility (PR lamps ... rechargeable batteries ... etc.), however the product would greatly benefit from a set of contact springs to replace the compressable metal strip at the bottom of the flashlight body. Shouldn't have to drop in a roll of tinfoil or a paper clip to make the light work after it's a little less than new.

Thank You

Al:

I guess springs would make the light at least 3/8" longer, and PT seems very concerned about being compact. (No springs and lens so close to bulb that we can't use many HPR bulbs. I'd happily accept an additional 3/8" at each end. I note that the Surge lens seems considerably more convex than the PT40 lens. A replacement convex lens option would be nice.)

What I find most annoying about the tin foil negative rechargeable contact is that it causes batteries to rattle. It also means that when I twist the bezel a little bit to turn it off and put the flashlight down it sometimes turns back on. I try to discipline myself to turning the light at least 3/4 turn further than needed to turn off.
