how long does it stay at a brightness that you perceive as full brightness? I mean, I know it drops over time, but perception is different than reality when it comes to light. TIA...I really want a knock down drag out rugged h20 proof long lasting light but cant justify the 14 led version b/c of price. I would rather save the $ for a mod or a Surefire/ Arc..

Manufacturer claims 40 hours full brightness and 60 hours diminishing brightness. Havn't tested it for runtime myself.
I've had my tektite 300 for a 1 1/2 yrs and use it every weekend for BBQ's, so my runtime is difficult to estimate. I've NEVER changed the batts, & it's still far brighter than my 3 week old opalec newbeam.
As for H20 testing, I had it on & submerged in a hot tub for close to an hour. Don't ask what I was illuminating- I'll leave that to the reader's imaginations. Let's just say that the girls enjoyed the light show.
