Hi Guys,
I've recently purchased a Fenix PD20 torch which the guys who sold me suggested I get a TL-100 charger with 3V rechargable batteries.
Kit arrived today and when reading the manual it says not to use it with 3V RCR123A batteries -> which is what i believe I have.
The guys at the torch shop still seem to think it'll be okay, however i'm somewhat skeptical.
Has anyone tried charging these batteries in this charger?
Cheers

Welcome to CPF, ks04!

You can get away with charging LiFe cells with a regular LiCo charger, but it is not recommended. The charge voltage is really too high for LiFe chemistry. The real problem is, that using a LiCo charger will wear out the cells faster. You aren't likely to have a "vent with flame" incident though.

It would help us to help you if we could have the exact description of the batteries that you are using: who made them, any markings on them, etc. The most common Li-Ion rechargable batteries are LiCo (lithium cobalt oxide) chemistry and are marked as being 3.7v.. They are charged at 4.2v. (the same as your Tenergy TL 100 charger does). LiFePo are much rarer, and as 45/70 said, charge att a lower voltage (3.6v.) and it would supprise me if those are the ones that you have. Let us know and :welcome:.
