Tenergy TN 270 + 2 18650 batt set

I'm really not an 18650 guy. But I have to say that this seems a little pricey for what you are getting. I mean, 2600mAH is kind of skimpy compared to what else is out there. As far as I know, cells in the neighborhood of 3000mAH are pretty cheap these days. So you might want to look into those. As far as the charger, Tenergy chargers seem to be OKAY, but not much more than that. You might want to price some better cells along with this charger (or a better one). You might find that there are MUCH better deals to be found.

I bought this set and like the batteries. The charger however would not connect well with 18650s. It does hold 14500s well. I e-wasted the charger and kept the batteries. Now I'm using an XTAR SP2 with better results. I like the Tenergy batteries because I want to see how well supposedly inferior batteries perform. I suspect they'll do better than you might think. The fact that they are only 2,600 mAh doesn't bother me because that's enough for what I do. They're the only two 18650s I have, which is good, because I hate coddling batteries to keep them conditioned.

Thnx for your comments... Been reading a lot of posts and it can be a bit of overload.. HEHE!

I don't think these batteries are necessarily bad. Admittedly, I don't use any Tenergy Li-Ion batteries (except their LiFePO4 RCR123As). But their NiMH batteries are REALLY good. And if their Li-Ion is half as good, it certainly can't be bad. As far as capacity, if 2600mAH suits you, that's certainly okay. But if you want more, more capacity doesn't cost alot (if any) more. As an example, you can get this charger alone at All-Battery for $13 and two Panasonic 3100mAH 18650s at Fast Tech for $14. That's $3 less for MUCH more capacity.

Stormin... Do you trust the batteries sold on Fasttech?

I have to admit that I have not purchased ICR or even IMR batteries from Fasttech. But I did get some of their A123 Systems IFR batteries. And they seem good.

Xtar WP2 II for the charger, $20 shipped and depending on what will fit in your particular light, some EagleTac 3400s, some Orbtronic 3400s or some FastTech 3400s, if you want to go protecteds.

Bought at IS a Nitecore i2 $12.95 and 2 Redilast 3100mah 18650s for an add $20 when bought together. Used the CPFUser code for 5% off. $37 delivered. After what I've read here, I should be happy. For $7 more, I get better batts and a more versatile charger.
