Terralux 4-6 D-cell Drop In

Hi, would like to check if anyone have experience of powering the mentioned LED from Terralux using 9 AA rechargeables?

From calculation, 6 x 1.5 (D-cell) = 9V. But, with 9 x 1.2 (AA-cell) = 10.8V. Will this burn up the LED?

D cell is actually 1.2 as well, maybe less because of resistance.
