defloyd77,
I just got mine today...fast shipping from Batteryjunction as usual. I have never had a nuwai light before, but I like my other 2 rebel lights (Fenix P3D and LP M1-R) so I thought I would give it a try.

The light feels worth about what I paid for it...$29. If it is putting out 90 lumens, than my P3D and M1-R are putting out about 300. I would say 40+ is more realistic. It is slightly brighter than my MMagled3AA and its brightness is between the P3DR100's medium and high settings. (high not turbo)

It does have a simple push for momentary and twist for constant on switch. It also has a decent tint with a nice SF like beam with a smooth spot and clean spill beam.

Is it worth buying? Well.....yes, if you want a nice inexpensive AA light with decent illumination for around the house tasks. Again, it is a $29 light. It is not a LP M3, nor is it as bright as one, or as versatile. If you have $50-$75, you can buy much nicer lights. But again, it is a decent light for the money. Just do not believe the specs.

Woodrow, thanks for the impressions. The output sounds a little bit disappointing...

...but is the tint warmish, closer to the incandescent side of things?

Thanks woodrow, doesn't sound too bad for 1 watt, but for the price I think I would rather put in a few more dollars and get the L2T or wait and see how much the 3 watt version is if it comes out.

I think it would be wise to wait a bit. All Nuwai lights are make in China. Here in Hong Kong we see the market catching up very quickly. My experience saw that as soon as the Crees came out, then all the cheaper brands like Smartfire, Superfire, Whateverifre or even no name brands came out using Crees. Now that the Rebel has come out and we are beginning to see all sorts of Rebels. Older LEDs like the K2 etc. lights are still on display but only the very uninformed will buy them. Most people are asking for Crees or Rebels now. Once a new standard is set, many will follow and the older ones soon get forgotten or placed aside. Just like the older lights with clusters of 5mm LEDs which are going for very cheap prices now, so cheap that one can't even buy that number of LEDs for the price of the light. Probably they will remain 'end stocks' on display for quite a while yet as there are so many around with no one to buy them.

In the past, Nuwai has caught up with market trends fairly quickly, though not as quickly as the Chinese brands (Nuwai is a Taiwan company). I am sure they will be bringing out rebel lights not long from now. 3 Watt LEDs are becoming popular and look set to become the stardard for small lights. It won't be long before they are everywhere.

Sorry I have not looked at this thread for awhile... The color of the beam is cooler then my FenixP3D100. It is not bad though...I was mainly disapointed in how the light felt and that it was not really 80 lumans. I really think it is worth the extra money to buy a M3 or the AA Fenix. That being said, had I bought the light a year ago, I would have most likely liked it. I do not think it is putting out more light than an old Gerber LX 3.0 that I had a while back...but I am sure it is way more effecient. Again...not bad for a $29 AA light. Just not great either. Also, I did not have the lux version to compare it to.

I believe the same light is sold at Wal-Mart. They started to carry them in the last 4-6 weeks in the Houston area stores. They have the 1- watt and the 3-watt. I picked a couple of them up at the SHOT Show at the first of the year and for the money they are a great light. Personally I do not have any use for the 1-watt. I have a Mini-Mag with an inexpensive drop-in that provides about the same light as the 1-watt.

I think the WalMart versions in the same body are the Ray-O-Vac Sportsman Extreme Cree. This rebel model came only recently, and Ray-O-Vac did not buy the rights to brand it as theirs. TerraLUX apparently did.

I have the nuxxx rebel version (aax2).it is very bright & the light beam can reach to opposite side in a road.

FWIW, I have the 3-watt from Walmart. It's a Luxen III (according to the packaging).

I've seen them a few times at Walmart and passed them over. Yea, I'm sure it's basically the same as the camo River Rock 2AA at Target with the LuxIII with dark purple output. I wasn't very impressed with that one.

I am interested in the 2AA 3W Rebel version for a cheap, but decent worklight.
