I decided to put together an upgraded Mini Mag for the paw-in-law for Christmas. Got him the Flag Lite (very cool) with the MiniStar2 Extreme.TLE-5EX from Battery Junction, all with the Ram switch and a glass lens. It came together very nicely.
While I was at it, I thought I would go ahead and put together a couple more Mini Mags as I find this a very handy form factor. So I ordered two of the TLE-5 drop-ins. Here's the problem: one of the TL-5s is nice and bright, roughly 2/3 the output of the TLE-5EX. The other, which I just installed, appears abut 2/3 as bright as that - it also has a sickly green tint compared to the other TLE-5 module. Tried fresh batts - no change. Too, the dome of the LED appears to be slightly scuffed in three places.
Should I contact Battry Junction and see about a replacement, or should I be happy to have won the lottery two out of three times?
