Hello,
I would like to share with you the results of testing Barbolight U-09 USL Cyan Vx a TYAK 3x Lux III one.

This unit was designed based on the penetration of that wavelenght on water, so its purpose is just to reach further than a white light unit.

The results obtained are obvious, but I would like to add that in fact when wiewed with human eye, not digital camera sensor, results is even better, due to our higher sensibility to that wavelenght when our eye is adapted to darkness (scotopic vision)
IMHO it is a very interesting flashlight when you are looking for something or somebody, and you don't mind about colour.

This first pic is the one with TYAK diodes, regular U-09

This one is corresponding to the USL model (Under Water Searchlight).

There was a study done about the sensitivity of human vision and it so happens that a cyan Luxeon happens to hit almost that exact wavelength where scotopic vision is the most sensitive, even on land.

According to LumiLEDs Technical Datasheet DS45 for the Luxeon 3 emitter, the cyan is spec'ed at 505nm typical. This is probably as close to 507nm as we could reasonably ask for.

Excellent decision on that cyan, Barbarin!

chevrofreak,

Thank you very much for hosting the pics. The person who maintains Barbolight website is on holiday, so I tried to do it by myself...

KevinL,
Thank you for your kind words.
