Do any of these take standard D26 (P60) sized drop ins?

I find the 4Sevens to be the perfect hosts for high current applications. It has a twistie UI which can take the heat. Nice heatsink that distributes the heat amazingly better then anything I have ever owned.

Is there a 1*26650 hosts that is smaller then the S12????

I would love a shorter one with a small reflector....it would be like a roomsweeper type of light for close up work.

JUST PLACED MY ORDER! ALMOST $260!!! AM MY CRAZY?!?!?!?!

Congratulations! You'll love it. It is easily my most fun light. Not always practical due to 30 minute run time, but unmatched when you need a wall of light, plus it's a great conversation piece.

This light is single mode direct drive right?

Good idea for a thread Vin, and also the ideal place for a 26650 related question I have - has anybody found a good container to carry a spare in? I'm planning to ask my local pharmacist if they have a pill tube that will fit, but otherwise I'm not sure where to start.

I also have to try and find a suitable enclosure and connectors that will accept a 26650 and some electronics - one of the attractions to me of carrying a battery like the 26650 is it's ability to charge or run my iPhone for extended periods of recording stereo audio. I bought a pocket USB backup that is designed to run on a pair of AA that should mod quite easily, but obviously the case and connectors are no good.

Pill bottle is a good call. If they don't have something suitable, you might just try walking the aisles at your favorite hardware store (fun anyway) looking for inspiration. One thing that might work is a short length of PVC pipe with threaded end caps.
