Anyone else still waiting on their Ti Preon to ship?
You should be OK.Just to be TOTALLY SAFE . . . . .
Can my 47's QTA (1xAA) flashlight
100 % safely accept a 14500 cell ? ? ?
Thank You for your assistance here.
The QTA's are MKII lights.Yeah, the old-school Quarks can take a single Li-Ion. I used a 17670 cell a lot with a 1xAA tactical neutral head.
Just don't leave it sitting on turbo too long because it'll get hot enough to damage it.
See my thread here (different head, but still....)
Don't know if the Prometheus / FourSevens team have done any destructive testing or test-to-failure of Quarks before, but I came close to running such a test by accident! :) I've got an old 123^2 (9 volt) Quark with the warm / hi-cri emitter. I was using it with a 16650 just now to provide...www.candlepowerforums.com
Yes that's correct. Turbo on the MKII Foursevens LV lights were designed to ramp down after 30 seconds of continuous use to prevent damaging the light from heat. The MKII's design was originally made to hinder, but not fully "prevent" the user from permanently damaging their light from extended and or prolonged turbo use.Just now I tried a 16650 cell with the QTA and ran it on turbo a few minutes with the light in my hand. Even holding on to it, the light was starting to get pretty warm.
So yeah it works just be mindful of the heat and don't overdo it.
Changing subjects slightly....
Anybody got a Maelstrom MX3F "flood"? I saw that they're part of a sale this week. Was toying with the idea of getting one for use as a close/medium range floodlight to use with a camera.
Surprisingly I haven't seen hardly anything on CPF about this light...
I'll ask about having the onboard Foursevens Prometheus Team Member, who originally worked for David, if able to chime in. I am hopeful they will try to present some information here on CPF like David used to do. Last I spoke with David >36 months now, he was working on building his own machine for himself. I too am not included with the designing and building of products, as I am not onsite at the Prometheus shop in CA.Yeah, I really miss the early days when there was lots of back-and-forth discussion with David on CPF.
