I skim my drawers at work for any silver, copper pennies (82 and before US / pre 97 CA), older bills, and all foreign coins. Well I found a penny from 1969 that looked amazing. I tell a dealer about it while swapping a Korean coin for the canadian penny and he asks if it has an S mint mark. I don't know I have poor eye sight so I bring it back to his shop and let him look at it. It has the S and is a proof. He packaged it for me for free.

Interesting. I am not a coin collector but saved a bunch of pennies from normal circulation (before they stopped minting them here), and nickels. I sorted some to find some of the more unique or older ones, a small number going back to the 1940's. I was hoping to get one from each year back as far as possible. There are some gaps, and other years found several.

Canadian pennies show up here now. I have a bunch of them, maybe enough to make a roll of them.
