The Coolest Thing I've Seen Today

Any one recal that carnival a more extreme version of this? Physics are fun and cool I loved this ride

When leaving work I saw the tail end of a local ATF raid.
These young studs go do their thing somewhere and afterward gather in this parking lot to debrief and celebrate. Typically those cars are moved and stored at a nearby parking lot and later sold at an auction.
One such raid a few years back took place in that parking lot. That was wild!
Step outside of my office to have a smoke and see a bunch of dudes dressed in tactical gear taking down a gun runner who would drive a vehicle full of guns to the parking lot, leave it and drive away in another vehicle with the cash.

Then the sky was like something you'd see in a movie

Perhaps some interesting info, or, perhaps not… The ATF is not involved in the sale of any seizures, such as vehicles. They transfer them over to the US Marshals, and then after all the legal wrangling is done, the US Marshals are the ones that auction them off.

Saw a photo yesterday in the news of a US Navy ship shooting a directed energy weapon, I think media said it was a LASER. Really cool, but the story was stale--happened months ago. Don't know when the DOD released the story, may have been delayed for national security reasons. Hope we are way ahead on this technology, though.

Ah! Fun with Physics. Sadly the days of wooden roller-coasters are over.
Cyclone at Coney Island offered up thrills without making folks fear for their lives.

There was a permanent version of this ride at a long-gone amusement park from my childhood. The ride didn't tilt but it spun and held the riders against the wall, then the floor dropped out from under them while they were at full speed.

Physics is cool.
