very interesting!

A question: Have you measured the ampere consumption?

I'm afraid the amperage is too high for the eneloops.

Does anyone know the maximum discharge amperage recommended for eneloops?

You know you can always run it on Akalines. yeah, 4xAA alkalines in the 3x18650 body of super.

Ok. I am patiently waiting to be "notified" that the Supers are back in stock so I can order one.
I have a HD 18650 and love it.

Question: I am not a Malkoff super fanboy, but on my way. I have three right now.
How do you mod a Super or a 18650 to work with AA batteries? I read about getting a MD3 body, but how can that work? Are other parts involved? Will this hurt the heads?

A 18650 HD with a MD3 body will run 2AA nothing else needed I think mine ran for like 12-13 days on low. It won't be very bright but because of the lux it's very useful.Only real useful on low. On high it would not be anywhere close to full output.

alas, I am on the same list. Over the years I've only bought his drop-ins. Bought an M61HOT to use as a weapon light last month and love it. Looking forward to the super.

It seems my hound dog doesn't work with 2 x 18650 but works fine with 2 x 18350 and 4 x CR123, anyone else have this issue?

No? Thats strange. 18350 an 18650 are of course the same voltage. You got a bad 18650?? What 18650's you using? Might be a length issue

I' guess it's a length problem and I can't fit my 3500 cells so it seems I'll have to bore out the tube to fit those

I have to use a magnet spacer with my unprotected 18650 in my MD Wildcat. Maybe you want to give this a try before you bore your tube.

Ya was going to recommend that but talking about doing that is taboo around here😁

Haha, I was not aware of this. I will eventually replace the batteries with protected cells to get rid of the magnet :)

I am pretty much a HDS and Malkoff addict. Expensive hobby, but very fun.
This will make Malkoff number 4, HDS number 7.
Of course I am late to the Malkoff bandwagon.
When will it stop?

Got it today. Will be out late playing in the dark. Can't wait to compare to my HD 18650, normal reflector.

Have a question about battery recommendations.
I use PROTECTED LG MJ1 3500MAH 10A 18650 BUTTON TOPS in my 3 Malkoff lights that support 18650.
Are there better choices? It's not like I run them to zero. I'm pretty anal about charging after a evening use.
