OK, I have now completed Part 2 of the review. Now you know why I was dragging my feet to get this posted. I knew how long it would take to do.

Probably going to confuse people by discussing your new EDC project in this thread. PM sent!
Thanks for the review and very good point. I think I may need to start a thread for the new project.

Just want to let everyone know there has been a slight break in production as I am initiating some improvements in the DEFT. The changes will both increase quality and speed production. Right now I am waiting on a shipment of some new plastic that I am going to use for the lenses that is stronger and harder. I also am getting a new system set up where I put them in a pressure pot and bake them in a new lab oven I just bought. Production should resume shortly.

Also most of you have probably noticed by now but I have started a separate thread for the Black Tie so we can keep this thread on topic. Please post any interest or questions there. Thanks everyone.

Any possibility that you'll have a DEFT ready by Flashapoloza? I don't necessarily need mine, but it should be represented.

I have sought an almost laser-like thrower for some time and have purchased a number of lights in pursuit of that goal. I have one or two which give an incredibly focused throw but none with the combination of this level of throw and portability this light provides. If you are not on the list and this type of performance is your aim, sign up for you won't be disappointed!

Glad you've finally had a chance to try it out. I guess you are feeling better now?

Thanks Michael! Somewhat better---enough to have gotten out for an hour or so with some lights and, well enough to drag myself into work it seems!

It is quite amazing when you consider the small package. I never imagined another LED with aspheric lens could be so much stronger than Mac/Ledean/KD versions...especially for this price.

Thank you, your project has endeared me to step up to the light:candle:.
I've been around enjoying the forums for it's resources for awhile. Its time though for the plunge and become a custom newbie FlashO'Holic (( I just can't flipping resist this flashlight! )) and a supporter for the forums.

Well excellent! You are now the second person that the DEFT has pulled out into the open. Can't wait to make you happy with a new DEFT.

As a note to everyone I finally received my new plastic and have started production again. I am using better plastics throughout the whole thing. Not that they were bad before. Just some improvements.

There is one major problem with STARTING with the DEFT--you will be spoiled and un-impressed by virtually all that you will purchase afterwards!!! Other than that, you couldn't do better.:welcome:

Well I have decided due to the work load and the many projects I have going that it is a bit much for one person to handle. So I'm going to stop. Working alone that is. 😀 I have hired my sister Mandy to help with assembly of the DEFT so that I can speed production of the DEFT and work more on the many projects that I have going. I'll start training her tomorrow on the many processes that go into building the DEFT. I am sure she will make a fine addition to OMG Lumens.
