Re: The Lounge

^^That will look nice next to my watergate scandal flashlight.

Here's a poor first attempt at a Deft-edc beam shot. Haven't quite figured this out yet. Cool light though.

Re: The Lounge

Your dad is very cool vinh, he has many skills and sure you have picked up lots from him. Great to be surrounded by great family ! All helping, packaging /posting by mum too.

Wayne needs to get his finger out, he has been a bit quite of late, hope he has not been joy riding the vette!

+1, I couldn't have said it better myself.

When I was younger i did not realize how valuable time with my dad was. My dad is in his 70's now and I enjoy spending time with him more than ever. He still shows me things that I don't know!

Re: The Lounge

Question for vinh. we know that a dedomed xpl led throws better then the xpl HI. Now for the k70vn it has an xhp35 Hi led and its getting 585kcd. Now wouldn't you get more throw and a slightly warmer tint of you dedomed a domed xhp35? might hit 650kcd with a better tint. The tint to me is to cool on the xhp35 hi. if the same fact holds true for the xhp35 as the xpl then we could squeak about a bit more from this led

Re: The Lounge

I thought the xhp35 HI is de-domed or flat domed like the xpl HI alex, not sure anything could be done with it, just like the xpl HI is as it is if makes sense................of course i could be wrong!

there two different leds. the hi ones have the the flat domes which even tho still gives more throw that flat dome still does not throw as well as if that was not there ether like a normal dedomed led. vinh found this out a while ago that dedoming a regular domed xpl it will throw better then the xpl hi with the flat dome. I figure why not see of the same holds true with the xhp35. they do make domed xhp35 so if anyone could test it vinh could

Re: The Lounge

Ah get you, so instead of the xhp35 HI you mean xhp35 and de-dome it!

One thing i would foresee would be tint issues, be them green or whatever, that is one bonus for me with HI leds and thats a nice consistent tint.

Good idea though

Re: The Lounge

for me im not a big fan of the cool tint of the xhp35 hi so if vinh could do a xhp35 pdt that would be epic but that might be expensive although id spend a little extra

Re: The Lounge

Could possibly see even more throw with a xml2 pdt, and even more with a xpg2!

Re: The Lounge

I know what you mean, it is very cool, saying that it was not as bad last use, colours not too bad and guess 6500k ish
Must admit the phone made it look like this

Latter more to life, luckily i dont mind cool on throwers, but i can see the difference with 5000k of the rc40vnT

Much prefer the T over the k70vn

Re: The Lounge

Cheers vinh, nearest place really i can get 200m distance with fields for flood, that tree is 160m give/take

Last pics me and callum did beam pics from up here

up top

Trees at back an easy 200m over lake

k70vn on the rocks!

k60vn on the rocks!

Best bit vinh, the phone only pics up part of the light, to the eyes so much more is lit, so i call it a 30% example of what you really see!

With a slower shutter speed and proper dark(as still partly lit up), the beam would look a lot better still, but gives a rough idea of what to expect, then be surprised when people try it out:naughty:
