Hello All!

Hope the ThanksGiving sale was fun and you got a light you wanted.
For those that sent Paypal already to
[email protected] you are fine!

However I am making some accounting adjustments so for now please send paypal to
[email protected] until I give further notice. Thank You!!!

So they borrowed your lights?

Sounds like a fun walk, psychbeat!

Yah - I always end up loaning lights out to my friends on night rides or hikes.

Halloween is a great excuse to bust out some lumens!!

Does anyone know if there’s anything brighter than an XPL in a single cell reflector P60 yet?

I’m hoping to replace my M2500VN with something single cell and my CQVN is a bit too heavy on the brim of a helmet but reflector modules work great.

I like direct drive for the simplicity as I only use my helmet light on serious technical downhill sections of trail and my full face helmet is usually off on the climbs here.

On mellower rides I’ve got a zebralight for my cross country helmet.

Had a couple of 18350s fail recently - one AW and one Efest... kinda weird.

Hiked from Tahoe to Yosemite this summer (180mi) - Zebralight beat out my H20VN due to weight but he H20VN was used a bunch with the magnet as an area light on other trips.

Yeah cool stuff psych! Great pics!!!

Hey would anyone care to share their opinion on the SST20? What are the advantages or disadvantages compared to XPL Hi.

The 95 cri of course. Nothing renders reds and browns better. It won't output as much though. XPL HI might throw better because of the higher output, but the SST20 is a very small led.

Hmmmm
I’ve got an old Vanisledsm quad that Vinh modded to XPE2 ~4000K
The HiCRI SST20 might be pretty awesome in that set up.
The Van quad is aluminum and much lighter than The CQVN I have.
It’s set for max 4.2a output which is a sweet spot for the slightly inferior heat sinking of an aluminum slug.

I was leaning towards him reflowing some ~4000K XPL-HI which is currently my fav all around emitter.

Once in a while I have to make this reminder:

Don't worry about how I feel when you write to me for feedback, comments or request. Just be simple and to the point. I too reply the same way. I am super chilled despite how I may reply. I take everything as neutral as possible. I just reply to too many emails daily that they all sound kind of bland mechanical. :-)

Does anyone have a tuned Ecoboost engine? Feedback?
I am on the fence with tuning my F150 2.7L. Kinda want more power but at least $400 is a lot and not sure about reliability.

I have a Ford Fiesta ST with the mods listed below. Due to the small turbos Ford uses it's difficult to make a lot more power, but you can significantly increase the torque. So far I have 19,000 miles on the car and most of them have been with the mods. I have not had a single issue other the difficulty with traction in the first 2 gears along with increased tire wear 😁

Car only weighs 2700 pounds, so it's quicker than the numbers would lead you to believe.

Stock 197hp / 214 ft lbs at the crank
Modded 205hp / 286 ft lbs at the wheels

Mods:
Cobb Access port
Custom 93 Octane pro tune from Adam at Tune+
MAP intercooler
Big mouth inlet
Cobb cold air
Colder plugs
Rear motor mount
MAP cat back exhaust
Symposer Delete

Thats a lot of torque. Ok I will see if there is a black Friday sale on tunes :-)

I did some temperature tests to see how effective the fan is with the Acebeam x70. The ultra low and low mode does not need the fan at all so i did not bother testing it. The medium mode is where the fan started becoming effective. honestly the fan is not really necessary on medium but it did help. the two tests below are the medium 8000 lumen mode and the 15000 lumen eco high mode. for shits and giggles i did another test on the full 60,000 lumens. i plan on testing the 25k high mode and the 35k eco turbo mode in the coming days.

just so i understand torque and hp correctly. with a car with lower hp(205) and high torque(286), your going to have a very hard launch due to the high torque but you will lose acceleration at higher speeds because of the low hp? would that be a good understanding of it?
