I put a little lanyard knot made out of paracord on my Mako and it is in my pocket (along with my Aeon and a Fenix SS LD01) I can't seem to give any of them up a place in my pocket. 🙂

Of course which of any of them would I hand to someone to use in the dark? I think I will loan them a match!

Still working out my new carry pattern with the Mako. I did use it the other night when coming home after dark when I had left the lights off outside. Hmmm, I didn't think I did that on purpose. 😱

My Mako has been riding on my keychain and it has moved my Aeon to my pocket.

I love the idea of having 60 hours of light on my keychain is hard for me to pass up. I always carry another light in my pocket and it has more output; it also gets more use than my Mako.

I really do like the light even though it gets less use than the more powerful lights that I have.

That is correct, remember the purpose of the Mako. It is a real backup light that will get you out of your situation should your primary light deplete its power source.

The long runtime is well needed in some of these situations, where brightness is trumped by runtime. :caution:

Mailman didnt bring me my white Mako today, maybe monday.... :mecry:

Is there a web page for ordering this light? I would like to order one :grin2:

Thanks!

Yes and the two I have up for sale are very nice.

I often buy new lights to check out the engineering and then offer them back to the community.

The fact that these are up for sale is in no way an expression of dissatisfaction with the Mako.

How much were these when Enrique first started this thread? There is no price listed in the first post.

I have had my Mako's -- two of them -- for a week now, and one has found its way on to my keychain.

Superb lights: they do exactly what Enrique said they should. The bead-blast finish seems to handle pocket wear without any problems. After reading prior posts, I carefully ran my finger around the bezel -- no chance of cutting yourself or anything else on it.

Bravo once again, Enrique!

[By the way: anyone know where I can find tritium vials to fit the back of the Mako?]

It's not pleasant having to see you guys receiving and enjoying your lights while I'm still waiting for mine! :tired:

Sheesh, and here I thought I was the latest to receive on this Tuesday. 😱oo:

I didn't carry the prototype on my keyring because I did not have the right sized split ring and the hole was different on the prototype.

Since having the Mako on my keyring, I have noticed that I use it much more and it does a great job. I like it more now than I ever have; not the brightest light but it gives out enough light for up close work in a super high-quality, rugged, long running and water resistant package.

It hasn't been a long time, but the finish is holding up well and I anticipate that it will wear very nicely; it will take marks but it kind of makes it look nicer to me. I don't feel the same way about polished Ti... scratches dull the finish and don't add to it in my opinion. My preference for most lights is polished Ti because of how beautiful it is, but I am very happy with the bead blasted finish on the Mako.

Exoticmoonlight: I did have another set of projects to choose from post-Mako AAA, but I've remained undecided as to what to go with. Spurred on by a 60 degree Mako test unit I made that is now in the hands of CPF member carrot, some folks have been contacting me asking for a run of wide-beam Makos. I have been considering a Mako AA, for which I already have a design done for, but the increased runtime of such a light would come at the expense of size. There are other designs in the pipeline as well, those won't be ready for some time yet.

bullterrier: I don't like Nichia LEDs at all, much less overdriven ones. I don't have any plans to make a light where the LED phosphor is degraded by design like in the ones you mentioned.

IceRat: There was, but unfortunately this run is sold out, sorry. 🙁

radiomanss: Looks like edc3 has you covered. 😉 I need to get some new vials from B@rt myself when he restocks.

Flea Bag: Tracking shows that your post office tried to deliver your light to you on March 28th. E-mail me and I'll give you the number.

bmstrong: How'd the tritium installation go?

A Mako AA would be great.

A wide beam Mako in AAA would be very welcome with a beam like the Sapphire, with a high and low.

Possible?

I've got an MO ready if a Mako AA w/wide beam moves into limited production, Size be damned!

no need fore Nichia Led just 8-10 lumen bright on high
and a AA Mako sounds superb.
I want one:wave:
