Y'all Malkoff junkies missed the deal of a lifetime on an old body style MDC AA Neutral

I know where an old body style MD2 is.
I almost bought them both, but decided not to. Didn’t wanna deal with Canada to USA shipping around this time of year. I’ve had bad experiences with Chicago distribution centers

I got an m361n today in a trade. Popped it in the md1 with a 1200 mah 18350 and away we go. The hi/low ring gives it around a 1 lumen moonlight mode. Works like it was made for it despite Gene’s disclaimer the hi/lo ring can make the multi mode drop in’s finnicky. Maybe I just got lucky cause now it’s a LMH head with a hidden moonlight. Nice little setup.

the neutral mdc is a fantastic light. Runs forever on low and high is plenty. And of course the old body style was too much to resist. Thanks again sir😁

Quick beam shot comparison. Hound dog XPL on the left and hound dog 18650 on the right. The colors aren’t totally true but shows the difference. The 18650 is a lot more neutral in reality. The yellow seen in the picture of the 18650 is not accurate. Both are the cool models, his website mentions both 5700k and 6500k for the XPL model and 6200k for the 18650 model. There is some blue/purple in the XPL model. I bought the 18650 for a friend and am a bit jealous of the tint on his compared to mine 😀

The reflector 18650 neutral is an absolutely fantastic light. I use mine all the time. The tint is truly great

And that’s how you become a malkoff junkie. I started with a curiosity and within 4 months I had 30 of them in all models. I had the maglite drop in when i was a police officer 25 years ago, but sold itt. I guess i regretted it and now made up for that lapse in judgment
Aginthelaw was right, you can’t eat just one.

Bought my first Malkoff in mid-November, and I am already up to the collection in this photo:

Not all Malkoffs, but the 6P has an M61 dropin. The EB2 and Elzetta are close enough.

You really need to try Malkoffs MDX crenelated head on those MD’s. They definitely complete the light and look so nice
