did you guys know about the E head 18650 body?

I've just seen this and to be frank I was quite bummed I got the 16650 body when I could have gone with the 18650... Imagine an E2XT on this, you could probably blind squirrels a mile away for like an hour

So back on July 2, 2022 I posted that I lost the switch boot and o-ring off of the tail cap of my MD3. I replaced it with another from a spare switch I had laying around and hadn't really thought much of it since.
Well tonight I pulled into the parking lot at work and got out of my truck and noticed an o-ring laying on the ground. It looked suspiciously like the o-ring that would hold the boot onto a Malkoff switch. Not laying more than a foot away was the boot. I mean what are the odds I find both the o-ring and boot just laying in the parking lot unscathed exactly 3 weeks after losing them?

Apparently, 100%. Your lucky star's shining, it seems.

About as strange as the fact we always find things in the last place we look. Go figure. :grin2:

Don't regret the purchase. I intentionally bought (2) 16650 bodies for my E2XT and E2XTD heads. That aluminum reducer is a weak spot . I don't own one but Gene was a little frustrated when talking to him about it. He told me on the phone that the threaded piece should be snugged into the head first, not the body.

For real, I had one and sold it, I love his stuff A lot but man this is the worse body ever, I used it twice and every time I had to charge the battery I had to get vice grips to get it off the body, it was a pain is the ***, the tail cap should screw off if anything, a simple redesign closer to the MD221700 style of front threads for the head and a rear for the battery would be amazing.

I've also did a runtime test with Surefire CR123 Primaries. I was getting a bit less output. I'd say around 200-250 lumens on high and it was still going at that steady brightness for over 3 hours, with all three modes still spaced out as they should. I stopped the timer at 3 hours, could of went much longer. I would say this is impressive and excellent at being able to run both 16340s and CR123 primaries. I have the 2-3.2v head with same LED and the li-ion head is very similar in output running CR123s.

I've got the 18650 ebody and the adapter stays in the head. To get it off the head I use the clip on the body to unscrew it.

If anyone is wondering how the runtime is on low with their new super hound dog and a couple 18650's I'll let you know when it dies. Any guesses?

I didn't measure mine at 80 lumens. I modified my low mode resistor to achieve around 6 times more output (6 times smaller resistor), and I'm getting around 450 lumens and 760mA draw at 7.4V
